Palisades Tahoe ski guide
California, United States · Editorial review: 6 November 2026.
Early answers
Palisades Tahoe includes the Palisades and Alpine areas, linked by the Base to Base Gondola rather than a continuous ski run. Our main planning takeaway: treat the connection as transport, not proof that every skier can ski directly between the areas. Gondola guide, checked 2026-11-06.

Lift tickets and day planning
Choose the lesson and rental location before fixing a meeting time. Compare your pass variant or dated ticket against the areas you intend to visit, and do not treat a connecting lift as an independent promise of all-day operation. Put transport and accommodation costs into your own plan.

We have not measured waits at either base or at the connecting gondola. A stated end-to-end ride duration would describe time onboard, not loading delays. Leave room in the itinerary to stay in one area if the connection does not suit your group or the day’s operations.
Who should consider Palisades Tahoe?
- Beginners: Check the learning area at the base you will use. The operator says the KT mid-station has no beginner or intermediate terrain.
- Families: Confirm the actual lesson base and meeting point; “Palisades Tahoe” covers more than a single starting area.
- Experts: The KT access restriction makes it relevant to experienced skiers, but current openings still decide the available day.
Terrain and navigation
The gondola guide says that the terrain between Palisades and Alpine is not contiguous and that the connection did not open additional skiable terrain. The statistics page reports the mountain areas separately as well as in a combined total. Do not add the separate and combined figures together. Palisades gondola guide, checked 2026-11-06.
